Hi,
I have been thinking of getting the speakers changed as the sound quality of the OEM is aweful!!!
Any suggestions on brands/Configuration?
From one dealer ive been recomended 8" Subs x 2 at the rear Component Speakers for the front doors and leave the ones in the rear doors as is.
All this with a 4 Channel amp. The speakers are all JL. Anyone used JL Speakers? or Suggestions on speakers and dealers aound the Nottingham area. Ive been quoted aound 900 quid for this incl fitting.
Any tips with getting audio upgrades done?

Thanks for your help
Cheers

sounds pricey to me. i did the following on my c180 i have a bit of knowledge and i paid less than 2 hundred but i already had a top end sony unit to run the following.

keep the tweeters on the dash
jbl 5 1/4" gto's in the front door i had to use spacers to stop hold them (basically metal tubing/piping)
jbl 4 " gto's in the rear doors
sony 3 way 6x9 on the shelf

if i add it up 200 for the stereo and 180 for the speakers and to have them installed properly your looking at less the 500 for the work.

thats my opinion and it was adequate
obviouslly going for amps and subs. will raise the price but you can get a amp and sub deal with wiring kit for around 150 these days.

hope that helps

Check out: - www.prestigeaudiodirect.co.uk or www.caraudiodirect.co.uk or www.caraudioplus.co.uk or Google In car Entertaiment, there is a good supplier, or so I have been told in Nottingham might be one of the above but not sure.

Cheers :)

I maybe wrong but if you are only replacing your speakers and not the head unit/amplifier you will need 1 ohm impedance speakers, as the standard fit speakers are 1 ohm.
Like i said i,m not 100% but i,m sure someone else will know for definite.
