I am considering keeping my W203 for fairly long time. (see separate post under general discussion - stick or twist)
Although it wouldn't have been my first choice of colour if buying new, I really like the combination of tansanite blue with light grey interior. Unfortunately it's not leather.
Does anyone have any views/experince of having leather retrofitted ?
Would it be a good idea or would potential future purchasers regard it as a bodge (probably less of an issue the longer I keep it) Also any ideas of likely cost?

I would have said that the cost will be to high, and that you are looking at £3-4k that is for new leather seat skins from MB or having them made.

Your cheapest route would be to buy the inside from a breaker where you could buy the complete inside including the door covers for around £1k.

Hello Malcolm - & thanks for the reply as always
I wasn't thinking about genuine MB stuff (although the breaker's option is a good one) Near me there is a small car dealership which specialises in (pardon the language) BMWs and I'm pretty sure they do a re - upholstering service for not much more than a grand, although I may be way off beam on that one. I also have a friend who bought a new e class a few years back, ordered it in cloth & then had someone else fit leather to save him a few bob (he is from Yorkshire afterall !!!) Unfortunately can't remember the cost & I've lost his phone number

Check out some prices - you can find a few places by Googling.

One of the MB's I looked at didn't have leather and the dealer dismissed that with a wave of the hand and said they'd have it re-trimmed. I could be way out here, but my impression is that they were talking around the £1000 area.

Found this old thread, but it has some info on pricing and possible fitters:

And I saw this link in a thread the other day on the HonestJohn site - posting here as it has a couple of suppliers in your neck of the woods: http://www.street-racers.co.uk/services/retrimming.htm
