Anyone fitted an aftermarket PDC? Wondered how easy it would be on a w208 CLK cab? Seen them for around £50 now.... not sure if they work, but anything would be better than nothing.
I've seen such a kit, possibly on ebay, and it includes a detailed description on how to fit it.
I have a W202 C-class that lacks Parktronic. I was wondering if there was an aftermarket solution and I came across one by accident. It included a LED distance gauge for monitoring front and back distance.
Where did you see your kit?
If I can avoid drilling the bumpers, so much the better.
I was wondering about a reversing sensor based upon the same principle as used in setting the bombing height used by the Dambusters ... a couple low power laser beams that converge, say, 6 inches behind the rear bumper. You could fit such a device on the rear windscreen.
I suspect they are all reasonable as an extra check, though to be honest even Parktronic isn't that great and i don't think I'd pay the £600 they charge for it if it hadn't been on the car already. (LEDs on the dash look cool though!) You have to be pretty slow for it to get there in time. I pulled up a bit swiftly and a second later ......beep! It is nice to know there is nothing hiding behind you though.
