Forgive me for being a bit dumb, but if the SRS FAULT light is displayed, isn't that because there is a FAULT, and needs dealing with? Surely, simply resetting the warning light doesn't cure the FAULT - or does it?

The same applies to the service interval (Assyst) - doesn't that mean the car is due for a SERVICE.? If you have a service completed by a garage other than a MB specialist and they don't know how to reset Assyst, then questions need to be asked of the garages ability to correctly service an MB, surely??

By the way - There are instructions the the vehicles handbook to reset Assyst - it doesn't need an electronic gizzmo to do it..!!

Perhaps the questioner has rectified a previous fault and simply needs to reset the system ....or, inadvertently triggered the light whilst doing other work .....either way, i would expect that he is aware of the reason for the lightbeing lit......

This device will only clear the lamp when the fault has gone, so the system must be working before it will put out the lamp.

I see that its only good for cars up to about 1997-8 with the 38 pin socket
