Hello everyone,

This may sound stupid but I am in the process of charging my A/C system on my 1987 420 SEL and noticed that there are bubbles in the sight glass. I know that this is not normal but does this mean I need to add more Freon to the system?

I am not an A/C expert, but I think bubbles are not a problem. It is normal for what my A/C man decribes as 'frothy coffee' to be passing through the sight glass. If you are talking about large 'gaps' of air going through, followed by fluid this will be a problem. Hope this helps.

Dont add more gas if you see bubbles, if in doubt remove the old gas and weigh in a fresh charge, overcharged can do as much damage as under charged.
