Hi Guys,
I am in spain and have a 2002 SLK imported from Germany (lhd) all the books are in German so i dont understand a thing.
2 questions.
1, The key fob locks and unlock the doors but with the roof down and the alarm active when i open the door the alarm does not sound and if i lean in and put the key in the car starts, Should there be an imoberliser fitted to this model. I am sure the alarm should sound but can anyone help with this.

2, The fan inside the car does not work no matter what setting its on, so i cant get hot air or cold air, i can hear something when i switch it on but no fan, does anyone know where the fuse is for the air con/ fan or any reason why it may not work.

thanks very much
Darren

The manual says the interior motion sensor is not primed when the sunroof is open.I would have thought that the alarm should still be active on the doors(cannot confirm as its my problem also, see my post). When the alarm is armed the led in the centre of the anti tow switch flashes, with the roof up open the drivers door with the key the alarm should sound, press the key fob unlock to silence, this should also alarm if the bonnet, boot, or glove box are opened.
There is an immobiliser fitted to the car and is activated when the key is removed.
The fuses box is under the bonnet near the bulkhead drivers side, under the cover the fuse sizes and circuit ref description (may be difficult if in german)
you can lift and inspect the fuse link or put a meter across the fuse to check continuity. Beware if you pull the radio the code will have to be reset. The problem may be the air con compressor, lack of refrigerant. Good luck (the chance of have the roof down here would be a fine thing summers due about August this year !!)
