The 129's a/c lost gas over a short period but after passing the automatic test on the filling equiupment which tests it over 15 mins to see if it loses pressure. The machine creates a vacuum in the system to test which I think is a fundamentally flawed way of doing it as this draws seals tight rather than pushing them away which is the state they operate under when the a/c is pressurised.

That meant one wasted charge and half a wasted day. It turned out after inspection with a UV light on the dye they put into the system that the condenser was U/S and after that was replaced the drier also needed replacement. So that measn the syatem will have been charged 3 times and lost gas twice which is hardly environmentally friendly is it? Surely a better way can be found?

Coincidentally my wifed C class condenser also webnt the way of all flesh at the same time - its been an expensive month!

The idea when it is being tested is that once the leak has been sourced, the system is immediately recovered again, this limits wast and damage to the environment.
