the control knob that diverts air to the screen or dash vent or footwell. does not work it is stuck in one position, I have been told that it is a wire operated system and is likely that the wire has fallen off , is this the case and is it an easy job to rectify , does the dash have to come out
thanks
mike

Remove radio and fitting shell, remove the two screws at top and bottom of radio aperture, lift off wooden fascia panel by pulling out from bottom, unclip cover from switch panel, remove wiring plugs from switch panel then remove panel.
The heater control panel is held by 2 screws and 2 clips, remove the screws and prise the clips to release the panel ,then pull the panel out slowly noting the position of the operating rods at the back, if they are located in the heater unit properly you need go no further, if not you have found your fault and should pull the panel just enough to refit properly, turn the dial to find the correct position ;there is only one . As they say reassembly is the reverse of removal.
Good luck, Geo.
