I have just diagnosed the air con system on my w140 s-class and it has returned the following errors:

EO 42 A/C system coolant temp sensor (B10/8), open or short circuit - perminent failure

EO 43 A/C system coolant temp sensor (B10/8), open or short circuit - intermittent failure

EO 47 Refrigerant pressure sensor (B12), open or short circuit - intermittent failure

I have had the system re-gassed yet no cold is being pumped out. From the above error messages can anyone shed some light on what is wrong and a possible fix.

Thanks

thought for a laugh I'd go and do the same test :(

oh dear

error B1231 (engine coolant temp sensor) - which I have replaced on a hunch it had gone down - any idea how to clear the codes?

error B1422 "series interface (x1) connection to instrument cluster (A1)

might this be the dodgy wire from the outside temp sensor to the dash (as the dashboard temp display keeps flashing)?

edit - clear codes by pressing left and right auto buttons... re-started engine and drove round block, did test again - no codes...

Thanks guydewdney for the image, much appreciated.

Where did you get it from as I cannot appear to find anyone who does a haynes style book.

Also regarding the temperature sensor problem on my car, is it a big job to replace and where's the best place to get one? (When i say the best place that usually means the cheapest!) :)

Thanks Again
