Air Con Dryer See Through Glass Broken

Hi, Parked car up to-day (1995 C180) was indoors about half an hour, when i went out again there was bright green fluid on the floor (trace dye) popped bonnet and fluid was coming from the Air Con dryer when i wiped it the see through glass on top of the dryer was broken, can the glass be changed or is it a new unit-why would glass break? will i need a RE-GAS?

air con problem

driers arent to expensive.. re gas cost will depend on type of gas you got.
about £60 for old type gas and £100 for new type.
never heard of the glass breaking, must be a fluke but you agent who ever you find for a re gas would know.

Change Drier and RE-GAS

Can i change the drier\receiver myself, is the system pressurised when i undo the a\c lines connected to the dryer-once new dryer fitted can i simply get a RE-GAS or even top up with a bottle of A\C gas (R134A) available from HALFORDS???

Hi;
Best to get to a proper aircon repair place as you'll need to replace the dryer, check for any leaks, vacum system, and recharge to the correct pressure or you will be looking at further damage.
