Hi,
I've got a C Class Diesel 220 2000 (X) W202 with "manual" air con. Up until a few days ago I assumed that the fan maintained which ever speed setting you selected and the car interior temp was controlled by a switching the ofheating and cooling units.
However, sitting at the lights a few days ago with the radio off I realised I could not hear the fan which was switched on. I then noticed that the fan was cycling off and on at intervals of a few minutes or so. Is this supposed to happen ? Or is the fan knackered ? Or have I misunderstood the way the air con works ?
