Hiya, just a follow up my other post.

Just an easy question :)

What should be seen in the window in the 'A/C drier?', the thing down by the ABS modulator, behind the passenger side headlight. Its got a window on the top where its shows a flow of liquid/gas.

What should be seen?

A constant flow of liquid?

An interupted flow?

The reason i ask is that my air con doesn't cool to ice cold, its just cold, if you get me :)

I'm doing some fault finding.

Any advice or pointers please :)

Get someone to hold the revs at 2,000 rpm, check the sight glass and it should be full or completely clear, let go of the revs and you will have a few bubbles due to the fact that the compressor is now running slower and its duty expressed in btu/hr or kw's is now less, also if the condenser is blocked with road debris the high pressure vapour can not condense into a liquid and will produce what we in the trade call "flash gas" which would also be evident in bubbles in the sight glass, a further give away would be the filter drier would be hot to the touch.
