I have a question with regard to air con gases

Since the mid 90s manufactures have changed over from r12 to r134a

To convert a system from 12 to 134 the recognised procedure is to drain the compressor oil and renew with 134 oil then replace the dryer and modify the charge ports.

I am told that there is a product on the market that you can add to the system that allows you to charge with 134 gas without changing the oil or renewing the dryer.

I have tried to track it down but without success can anyone help.

Thanks

I have tracked down this product and the U.K distributor. If anyone is interested in their details please email me mbenzman@hotmail.com and I will be happy to pass on the details

I saw a lot of discussion about this on the Jag-lovers mailing list a year or so ago. Lots of US Jag owners had used these R12 replacements with good results. I'll be in touch as my R12 system needs re-gassing.
