air con hot and cold

can anyone out there help me with a problem i am having with the aircon on my W210 diesel estate.
after driving for a while with the aircon on if i stop for a while and then get back in and restart the car the aircon on the drivers side blows out hot air as though the heater was turned up to full. the passenger side is ok.
does anyone know if the system has two temp sensors and where they are and how i change them or is it a stealership job!£!£

this sounds like a duovalve failure -assuming one is fitted. Do you have split air-con ie passenger and driver can dial in their own temp? If so, this strengthens suspicion. There are posts about this if you do a search

You can change the Duovalve yourself. I got a quote from a dealer for parts only and it was £180. Do a search here, and on the "other" forum, you'll see how to remove and service it......
