Air-Con rattle...

ok so my air con has decided to start rattling when its off and disappears when its on. I've been told by a mate that he had this problem with his nissan 200sx and said it was the clutch on the air con unit is worn away and the air con just wants to stay on all the time now.

he also says i cant fix it and i will have to take it to a specialist for repair.

so what the f*ck?

Either a pulley bearing or auxillary belt rensioner, I changed the tensioner on my old C180.

ok so the noise was there this morning i put on the aircon and after a while i turned it off and there was no noise.

the pulley bearing or the auxillary belt rensioner is it

a: cheap to buy and get fitted?
b: could i fit it myself?

Hi paul, good to hear from you again, pity it's to do with a problem.

You should be able to get the bearing from any bearing stockist.
