Morning guys
Not sure if this is a thing or not, I read online that you can reset the air con by holding down the windscreen defrost, and air recirculating buttons simultaneously?
I’m wondering if my climate system needs a reset after I changed the battery a few weeks back. All seemed to work fine before the old one died, but since then the cold air hasn’t exactly been ice cold. It became more apparent In yesterday’s blistering heat. I first assumed it probably needs re gassing, but the odd thing is I was getting different temps blowing out of either side, even tho both sides were set the same. This makes me think it needs recalibrating/resetting.
Anyone heard of this?

Thanks
Steve

the condenser slowly fails, the gas weeps out and eventually the system cuts out, you can top it up and it will likely get through a summer sort of working

there is no electrical reset than can fix a leak and add gas

open the bonnet and look for this - if you have any dark grey / black areas round the edges you need a new one

That reset (YouTube) re syncs the flaps afaik.
I had cold one side warm the other and reset, all good after.

Thanks guys. I’ll try the reset first, at least that should get it working electrically.

Well the reset was a waste of time, unless I did it wrong..
No obvious signs of leaks on the condenser, so I’ll get it re gassed.
Until then I’ll be going old school with windows down

Yea AC is always on. Fallen into that trap before in other cars..
Well, after trying the reset again and leaving the car for few hours, it appears to be blowing ice cold air again. Still felt slightly cooler on the drivers side, but might just be in my head now.
I’ll see how it is over the next few days.

Might have had an air or gas pocket ? Leave it on full power to get the compressor working hard?
