It was last regassed about Two years ago, when I got the car, and no I don't leave it on all the time, in fact don't really use it much at all.

Funnily enough had mine regassed by a local mobile unit yesterday, he advised the system had lost 35% gas which according to him was good for a 12 plate car that hadn’t had any attention to the aircon since build. Took the car out last night which was a good test and all is back to normal nice and cool in the cabin. The worst offenders re loss of gas tend to be accident damaged cars apparently which was worth knowing

I leave mine on all the time unless using the sunroof in which case not worth trying to cool the earth

Having said that the earth could do with a touch of cooling at the moment.
Doesn't quite work that way....

As above not using it makes the leak gas as seals dry out (particularly on the compressor).

I use mine with the roof off completely :p

Never turn it off, does a great job of drying the air in the winter months so the car demists faster. Use it or lose it

Leaking seals allow moisture into the system which doesn’t help, so yes regass with coolant and oil (in my case 12gm) and then leave on all the time. My 210 went 20yrs with one regass and was still ok when I sold it other than the compressor was tired and needed replacing

£60.00 Seems to be the price for a re-gas, any suggestions,
Kwik fit, any good?
F1 Autocentres etc
Or a small independent specialist.

I used Kwik-Fit to re-gas a car the other year. The kit they use makes it fool proof .....

Kwik fit around here are effin' useless. They re-gassed mine and said the air con control unit had failed because they couldn't get it working.

I didn't believe them. I took it elsewhere who said the condenser had failed and that there was no gas in it at all, he leak tested it with a green dye. I replaced the condenser recently and had it gassed.

I'm lead to believe ATS are offering a Groupon deal at £38.
They pressurised mine with inert gas last time and found a leaky condensor, by listening.
The machine vacuum tests are near useless in my experience and have caused me to waste money and time on pointless re gasses.
