Air Conditioning Con Always On

Hi

Anyone got any ideas as to why my A170 air con is always on, even when the deactivate (EC) button is on. Is there a relay that could be stuck on (where?).

The car is an A170 (2000)

how do you mean it is always on? What indications/signs make you think that?

I'm not sure now if there is a problem, I played with it this evening using the EC button which is meant to de-select the air con. When the control is on cold (air con off) the airflow is colder than I expected then when I switched the air con on the air flow did get colder and I could hear some additional fan or something. So despite my cold feet maybe it is working as it should.
