I've just got my first merc. It's a C Class 220 amg sport estate 2013. I had a sports filter on my previous car (petrol) which I like the sound of. Will it improve the sound of a diesel engine or make it worse?

Also I can't find a repair and service manual for my make of car n year. Any idea's where can I get 1 from?

Any help with the question's above will be appreciated

I had K&N in my 220CDi, seemed to make it breathe better

C350 Carl had a K&N in his so he may be along to answer the question better

I had a BMC in my 270 and there was a slight increase in intake noise and waste gate chatter, so yes you will get a little more noise but apart from that very little difference in it, although you really need to clean it more often than changing a paper filter

As much as I like my diesel for its torque etc., I have no wish to make it louder. The best thing you can do to a diesel is make it quieter.
