Air Flow Meter, A-Class

Hi does anyone know if you can buy a air flow meter, for the A-class,
Mine failed the mot today, they wanted £470 to buy and fit.

is it petrol or diesel?

If its petrol you won't like it, the air flow meter is part of the engine managment ECU hence the price

Thanks for the info, mines is a petrol it failed the mot for this reason.
It keeps cutting out when you apply hard braking,, I was told this will be rectified once the meter is changed.

how old is the car ?
full mb history ?
if it is 3/4 yrs old
goto the nearest dealer and complain when then wont help you
phone up dcuk customer services and complain
within 30 mins the dealer will have a res plan that they will have to sort out
i can garantee if u caomplain and say u will never buy another and u are selling yours wife car then u will get it for foc

Hi My car is a 99 on a T with 33000 genuine miles full mbsh, I complained to medway mercedes who said that these air flow meters can go at anytime regardless of mileage etc, they didn't want to know about doing any deals with me unfortunatley. I will give mercedes a ring in the morning though to chance my luck with them.

Might be worth looking at my post on 190e cutting out it would however appear that the diagnosis is correct

Thanks very much for your info on the 190E I think it's the exact same problem I have, the new airflow meter goes on in the morn. Fingers crossed.
