Hello,
Can any one explain this.
I have a 1999 C250 Elegance TD Auto.
When I open the drivers door the Temp. Miles and Clock light up.
Recently on cold and frosty mornings the temperature has been showing between 8 and 12 degrees even though the car is covered with frost.
When I open the door, BEFORE I switch on the ignition or touch any switches the temp reading starts falling. It keeps falling until it reaches what I assume to be the correct temperature. This morning it fell from +8 to -1 in about one minute. It then indicates what I assume to be the correct temp as I drive.
Any Suggestions ??
There is an intermitant fault on the heater blower, the blower usualy starts working after 5 to 10 min of driving, could the fault be related to the dogdy temp readings.
Regards Kyffin

We have had 4 post of late with folk reporting high temp readings, only by a bit, and not the high figure given when the temp sender fails.

Your heater motor will probably have worn brushes, and it is the air coming in that starts it, this is not related to the temp sender
