1994 E300 (om606) has SRS light on all time. I have made up an led tester described by other, and read codes from pin 6 of the 16 pin (X92) socket - resulting codes were - 2,3,4,8,9 -

2 - control unit
3 - detonator drivers airbag
4 - detonator passenger airbag
8 - low voltage
0 - warning lamp

Tried to reset code 2 (control unit), but won't reset with my home made led tester.

Can't understand why code 9 (warning lamp) was obtained, as light works!

New control unit is VERY expensive. Any help appreciated before trying to investigate wiring of SRS system etc.

light's come on on our 95 C class. Apparently it's not an MOT failure so given that the car is worth very little and we're keeping it, I shall be removing the bulb. Just an option!

You should measure the +12v rail feeding it all, it could be the over voltage relay. though I do not think that you have seat belt tensioners,if you have they are also in the same circuit. There have been issues under the passenger seat, do a search.

As car is parked up quite a lot, battery negative is disconnected regularly, in order to charge battery - do you think this may be linked to the problem?

Overvoltage relay has been replaced in last few weeks, which corrected ABS light, but not SRS light.

According to the wiring diagram on my Merc CD manuals, the car does have belt tensioners (R12/1 and R12/2), but according to manual, they are not checked by the airbag controller.

Do the wires under passenger seat go to belt buckle or pretensioners?

Anyone recommend a good Indie with diagnostics for w124 models in S Yorkshire area?

SRS light on

Wondered if you ever found a solution or even a good S Yorks lecky? I have the same issue of SRS light on with ignition, off after 4 secs, then on again. Car is a 1993 E250D estate. Airbag, contact spiral and interior change, but the car only ever had front belt tensioners and driver's airbag. No buckle or seat squab sensors and no pass bag. Cannot get a signal out of pin 6 on the diagnostic socket although my blink tester works fine on my E280T petrol.
