airbag reset before engine start ??

66 plate C class coupe that the seller says wont start because the drivers airbag has been deployed but it does have Ignition lights , is he correct ??

I bet if it thinks airbags have deployed then the fuel and engine start has been cut off as a safety precaution, I’m not sure if it’s a STAR session to resolve but could be likely.

That would make sense matty but you would think if he bought the car to repair he would know it was going to need looking at ?

You would think so but not everyone does, it’s not a new thing to cut off fuel but it not being allowed to turn over sounds like something is being actively blocked by the ecu.
Plus he may have been told “it ran fine after the accident” which I’ve heard before and was a load of porkies by the seller just to get the car off their premises

my sister got smacked up the back badly in her mk3 focus, no air bags popped but crash sensor error thrown on the dash and once switched off the car wouldn't start (or crank)

so I expect its normal - could be 800 quid to fix it unless you get the SRS module hacked
