Hello, I have a 1994 L Reg E280 and wanted to know why my SRS light is Staying on ? The Car has only the drivers Airbag. Is there anything that i need to check ? Like wires under the carpets or anything.
If anyone can offer any advice it would be highly appreciated.

SRS light

There is a wire under the frot seats which completes the circuit when it is connected. Has this come loose?

I looked under the seats and yes the red plug under the drivers seat one of the wires had come away from the plug. I tried to push it back in but the light remained on. Is there a way of shorting the circuit at the plug to knock out the light ? Also Ive noticed that the indicator dosn't cancel out on a right hand turn. I'm just wondering if someone has had the steering wheel off in the past to look at this fault and maybe not connected something up there ?
just a thought.

warning light

I accidentally disconnected my connector plug when I renewed the seat cover. When I replugged it it took a few seconds to reset and extinguish the warning light.

If you short the circuit it won't necessarily get rid of the warning light.

Better to strip the wire, put a new cap on it and push it properly back into the connector plug. Have the ignition turned off while you do it so that the signal arrives at the warning light when you turn the ignition on (how it's meant to happen). If worst comes to worst then you could buy a new connector plug from MB but it might be 1. expensive and b. need to be fully wired up before you can try it.

Good luck.

You could also try disconnecting the battery for 30 mins and see if it resets itself.
