Hi,
I posted a thread earlier explaining my c200 (w 2000)had a faulty aircon blower.I recieved good advice from jberks and daveenty who suggested that it may be the regulator which has gone.Ive been able to source a new regulator in euro car parts priced £80 + vat.
What is involved in this job?Do you access the regulator by stripping the dash? The reason I ask is I have a friend who is good with all things mechanical and it would be handy for me to have him do it.

On the CLK (W208) it's under the passenger side dash (RHD car) and, as jberks says, a relatively easy job.
Can't really see it being moved on model to model....but stranger things have happened ;)
Oh...and nothing should need re-setting afterwards system wise :)

Same as the E then. Sounds like yours will be the same too.
Tell your friend, remove dash under tray (passenger side)
look up and you'll see a plug (3 wires) going into the square fan housing. remove the plug and then the screws from the base of the housing (8 of them from memory) and remove the bottom cover. The regulator is the block that the plug went into. 1-2 screws and drop the regulator. Remove the spade connectors (that go to the fan) from the regulator and remove the regulator from the car.
Put the new one back in and reassemble - hopefully all is well.
