Aircon Compressor A180cdi W169

Good day
I drive the above car and my aircon Compressor pulley is making noise,no longer save to drive. Is this repairable or do I need to replace the whole unit? And how do I replace? Is it a difficult excercise?

Mine seized and snapped the belt last month.

Replace with new, perhaps £250 for the unit.
Not usually difficult, feasibly v awkward, the new compressor in hand will show you where the bolts are.

Clean all well before using the spanners.
Use compressor oil on o rings.
Ask ATS to nitrogen pressure test prior to re gas.

Are you sure its the AC pulley? The other pulleys on these engine start making noise and wearing out at 80k+

Change all the idler pulleys if the rest of the car is good.

AC Compressor is not too hard to change.

If the compressor itself is noisy don’t risk seizing it - metal shards can circulate and you’ll have to replace the condenser & flush everything to warranty the new part.
