If you have access to an A/C recharging station and know what you are doing then it is a relatively easy job but if not visit a good indie and get them to do it for you. It will be cheaper in the long run.

They will be able to sort out the oil issue (Domestic and commercial compressors normal come oil charged - not sure about automotive A/C systems though) and change the drier purge the whole system, vac it and recharge with the correct amount of refrigerant.

Hi,
When my C43 A/C was recharged the oil got put in then, remember if you have any of the A/C pipes disconnected you are supposed to replace the reciever/dryer as well.

a word of warning if you are going to change it yourself.the system is under pressure if there is refridgerent(gas) still in the system and you undo a joint you can do yourself some harm, its best left to a specialist,as the pump is noisey there is good chance of gas still in the system

I can check early next week for you.

The main thing with these systems is that you do not leave anything uncoupled for long periods, all air con re charging systems have the ability to dry the system out before filling.

I can print of the MB instructions early next week

In that case you should be able to sort it once you know the oil charge - as has already been said replace the filter/drier, moisture as you no doubt know will ruin the system.
