hi,

my aircon works only on/off - either freezing cold if it is on minimum or boiling hot on anything above minimum set up.

I saw on youtube that the sensor above the rear mirror gets clogged after a certain time and needs cleaning, but I wanna know if anyone else had this problem.

could it be the aircon control panel, which is cheaper to replace than messing with that sensor.

thanks

I thought the cabin temp was monitored at the small fan, behind the dash, just above the left knee.
They are a push in clip fit and can come out.
Although I imagine a knee could rest on it and block it.

Accessible with the radio out.

I am not sure about the dash one, but there's defo one above the rearview mirror (a sensor with a fan that is) - at least in CLC models.

Simplest way to clear the sensors is a hand vacuum cleaner on the vents.

Part of my interior cleaning regime.

the vacum won't do it... the vents are tiny and inside there is like a paste around the little fan - that`s how it looked on that video. tried to blow it with some compressed air can but no luck. it's an old plastic and I wouldn't venture to dismantle it.
