What sort of cost should I expect to have aircon recharged
by Merc Dealer [94 E300D]

Don't have it done at a dealer!

Seek out a local aircon specialist, it should cost you in the region of £70 to £100 for a vac out and recharge.

However.....if you have lost all your gas over the winter, then there is a leak that needs sorting before you fill the system with precious R134a.

If the leak isn't obvious, get the specialist to put some UV dye in the system, that way the leak can be found next time.

That can take time, and time is money, but it needs finding, otherwise you can watch your money float away on the wind.
