Have just had my 1995 sl320 serviced by local dealer and they pointed out that the two red flashing alarm lights on the mirror no longer working. The one on the door still works so the alarm (a MB scorpian add-on) still functions. However understand that when the door bulb goes alarm will not function.
Dealer suggests a replacement mirror (£80-£90). Some earlier posts have suggested that the bulbs can be replaced. How does one remove the mirror to do that and how does one open it to get at the bulbs? Are replcement bulbs easy to find?

mirror lights

hi

when the LED in the door packs in it is the imobilis'er which you will not be able to disarm ''making the car unusable'. The mirrors can be repaired but it is not easy you need to wire in two resistors and a new LED . The new mirror at eighty quid is probably the best option, they have dropp'ed in price a lot 12 months ago' they were two hundred and fifty quid.
