Alarm Fault

Hi,
I recently put on a request for a
problem with the alarm system om my 2001
E220cdi ,I can lock the car by the remote but the hazards flash at double speed ,this is a problem that will maybe last for a few days then everything works fine again for a couple of months . I have replaced the batteries in the remote & also in spare remote . The problem still persists . I would be most grateful for any advice anyone can give on this before I have to give in and go to the dealership.

difficult one to answer , if its a factory fitted system you need to contact mercedes , the double flashing probably points towards the type of fault , when it happens do the doors lock then unlock? or just the hazards go off?

Hi legoman
The doors stay locked just the hazards flash at double speed , I have also heard it may be a siren fault from Oliver at prestigecarservicing this morning . I will now try and see if the local indie has the diagonistic machine to check & repair .
