Please help I've got E300 210 with alarm problems. I put in new batteries in the key fob 2 weeks ago an all was well, but last night it went mad! I got out tried to lock the car with the fob, which set the alarm off, and activated the immobiliser, every time I open the door the alarm goes off, and I can’t reset it, can’t over ride the immobiliser, can’t lock the doors and can't drive it! Help

Hello and welcome, I think that a re set may help, disconnect the battery under the rear seat for 5 mins, then connect up again, with luck it should solve it.

Alarm and fob E300 W210

Hi there

Tried your advise, by diconneting the battery, still nothing other than the car still not moving, alarm still going off and fob still not working. The red sensor light is not flashing on the fob although I have changed the battery twice now.

Can the fob be reprogrammed or do I have to buy a new one as suggested by MB.

There are a couple of people on Ebay who are selling keys and programme codes for the keys, are these scams (give me some ley way I am a woman!)

Any advice would be gratefully received:confused:

The keys on ebay are only useful if the case on yours is damaged, as all you can do with them is swop the internals over. They cannot be reprogrammed.

Dont buy a key on EBay, the car key is dedicated to your car, any other key will not work. To reset your key refer to the owners manual and its a simple proceedure. If you dont have the manual let us know and it can be explained.

If the red LED is not flashing then the remote is not working, with domestic remotes the IR sender can get dry soldered.

I could recommend a good book on the subject:p

It could mean that you are soft and warm and smell nice:confused:

If you point your remote into a digital camara and press the button, you can see if it is working.

it means that it is not working. Any hand held device like remotes do have a hard life, when knocked or dropped and the internal components break lose, The LED's do break away. Sometimes they can be re soldered in side, A TV service man would have a tester and could check the soldered joints and battery connections.
