Hello all,

having recently aquired a 95 E220 (W124) I was wondering if anybody might be able to shed light on my alarm problem. I have already looked through some of the alarm posts but haven't found a similar issue.

I have to use the key to get in the car and start it etc. But I have the fob in the picture on my keyring. The red light on the fob flashes when you press the button but it doesn't do anything in terms of opening or closing the car doors or setting the alarm.
Numbers on the back are MPT 1340

On my dash just to the left side of the lights switch dial there is also a red light that is constantly on (illuminated) whether the car is locked, unlocked running or not?

I also think the red horn under the bonnet tucked up behind the offside head light just has the number 334 on it?

Does this car not have remote central locking linked to the fob and alarm? How can I reset it all or simply get it working?

Don't you just love electrics? (Surely they can't be any worse than my Land Rover!)

Thanks all.
