alarm keeps going off

hi
i have a 1998 c180 manual, for the last few days my alarm keeps playing up, it all works ok but for some reason it just goes off whenever it wants, its really annoying when its the middle of the night. any idea why? please help as its really annoying now!

Sorry to hear about your problem, I bet your neighbours love you. I would suggest you check the operation of your courtesy light , boot and bonnet switches and interior lights. Also do you have a movement sensor ? a strong gust of wind or a heavy vehicle passing too close can trigger the alarm if the sensor is set too sensitively. Often difficult to trace but be methodical and check all the switches that are intended to trigger the alarm.

With interior alarm sensors close all the airvents you can. As per previous post gusts of wind can and do activate alarm systems.
Check condition of door, boot and bonnet switches and clean / lubricate as neccessary

Hi,
Check your power in your battery, if this is low then the drops in your battery can set off alarm.

in engine compartment on your right hand side on w202 is black horn like siren
