alarm led fault

could anybody help?
I have a C200 sport 1996 - When the alarm is armed it should iluminate the red led on the mirror and the led on the door handle. but it does not work! The green indicator does! I have checked fuses and all ok!

Any ideas??

I have the same problem on my 1997 C36....you'll find that the red LED has blown....no real way of replacing just the LED without destroying the mirror housing so you'll need a new mirror assembly.

From memory I think they're like a 100 quid or something.

If you do find a way of fixing it without a new mirror...let me know! LOL

You can replace just the led... The led is standard, available from somewhere like maplins... Does need the mirror to be taken apart, but not that difficult...

Blimey...I stand corrected! I don't suppose you know exactly HOW the mirror comes apart do you? Or what rating of LED/Resistor combo you need?

If its reasonably easy I might have a stab myself....lol
