Hi, I have a C220cdi (202) which has developed a problem with the alarm. When setting it locks the car does its 3 flashes and then goes into a rapid flash which doesn't stop. Have checked door, tailgate and motion sensors and they all cause the siren to start if activated. Is this likely to be the alam module and if so where is it. All help gratefully accepted.

What year is the car?
What does your key look like?

It sounds as if your alarm is activating as soon as you lock the car.
You could try closing all heater vents, and putting some insulation tape over the motion sensors. Then try it again, If it still doing it at least you have eliminated the motion sensors and vents.
I think the computer on the car may possibly log the incident and may tell you what the problem could be.
Try getting the codes read.
Siren definetely works?

Hi, have done as you suggest and taped motion sensors and closed vents but still does thw same thing. The siren definitely works and I noticed one other thing is that the interior light come on when the rapid flashing starts. Guess I'll have to get the codes checked. Thanks for your help

if your interior lights are coming on then it sounds like a door pin is u/s, try opening one door at a time and pushing door pin in and see if interior lights go out, if not theres the fauly.

Thanks colechelle, front and rear lights go out with the front and rear door switches. Even if the front lights are turned off on the console they still come on when the alarm fast flashes. The also go out when you stop the alarm. I have noticed that the alarm is also stopped from the fast flashing and deactivated by releasing the door switch (as if opening the door) don't know if this should happen?

Hi, yes, even taken them out and it still does it. Have given up now and booked it in to have the codes read. Thanks for the advice.
