Alarm/siren - duration?

Excuse if I appear a bit thick (again), but when the alarm/siren is activated, how long does this go on? Does it operate for two weeks while I am on holiday or until the battery is flat, or for a pre-determined period only? Then does it reset ready for the next occasion? Never been sure of this.

Usually around 30 secs then reset. However if the fault still persists it will re-activate.

When you are on holiday, your house alarm is only allowed to run for 20 min's.
the strobe will stay on, so that you get that sinking feeling when you come home.

been away for 3 days, left car secure at work. alarm not on. battery flattened on second day. alarm going off every other hour so i was told.
think i have sorted flat battery prob. to cig. lighter being stuck in.?
know it should be off when ignition off.
will recheck electrics tom.

On older alarm systems the interior sensors can be triggered by the air vents. If it is windy and the vents are open then there is a good chance the alarm will trigger. Simple solution is to close the vents
