I suggest you set off the alarm, you’ll soon find where it is located! . On a more serious note, you are unlikely to get a serious response as it would make stealing a car potentially easier. Not sure it is allowed by forum rules, where’s @Blobcat when you need him.

Ha. Fair point but funnily enough that's exactly what I did. It's under the liner.
Anyway, something is triggering it. I've pulled it out to see if it could be the battery in the Siren. See if I can get a replacement Screenshot_2023-04-22-13-50-08-615_com.miui.gallery.jpg

I would just leave it disconnected but the trouble is the lights flash when the alarm goes off. If it happens in the night it could flash the lights all night long causing a flat car battery ?
I've tried fuse 46 to disable the alarm but now the central locking doesn't work.

Unless you know any other tricks ....
I'll buy a new Siren battery and see if that's the issue for a few quid. Worth a try.

I was wandering around Clumber Park, one nice thing apart from the beautiful countryside is a complete lack of mobile phone coverage…:)

Alarms are ok, no one ever reacts to them… it’s immobilisers we take a stance on…

The battery leaks inside the siren module and fubar’s the circuit board. New siren is the normal fix - behind wheel arch liner on many.

Yes. I've found it and had it apart. I've ordered a battery for it. That said, there is no leakage. I'm going to test it in a minute for voltage . It is 13 years old !!

Well it is holding voltage. But I'll try a new one anyway since it's 13 y o.
Is there any other way I can stop the alarm system. I don't need it. If it goes off early in the night and keeps silently flashing, the main battery may go flat.
I wonder how long the indicators flash for. Is it an infinite amount of time?
There must be a control box somewhere I can unplug. But that'll likely disable the world !!

If you mean the audibles, then I wonder what will happen if you desolder and insulate one of the two cables going to the big round thing.

Well, no. I have completely disconnected the round horn thing. But I can still trigger the alarm (or flashing of the indicator lights). By jacking the car the tilt sensors kick in. So the alarm as it were is still active until I can figure out the fault what ever is making it go off
I don't want the lights flashing all day long eh.

I assume you have ruled out things like the motion senors inside the car.
Well to be honest , it had an MOT and the guy did a diagnostic and said it was a glass break sensor in the back somewhere but further testing was needed.
I decided to take the siren out for now to shut it up and check this common rogue battery issue in the first instance.
Not sure where to go after I replace then battery . Maybe it stops it . If it doesn't I'll have to think about this

You can press the alarm deactivate switch - should be one for interior sensors and one for tow away protection

in some cars the tow away and internal sensors are deactivated via the steering and the dash display - is so my W251.
Have you read the manual

Can't find anyway to turn it off.
So, the lights are still flashing even with the new battery not installed in the siren so the alarm is still going off.
So, does anyone have any thoughts how I can either disable the alarm or where are these glass break sensors the garage said may be rogue?
