Alarm Siren

Hi

I am having issues with my alarm randomly going off. i have a new siren on the way but in the meantime can i disconnect my old one? will it mess up the electronics/"brain"?
Model = E220 amg night edition bluetec estate 2015. Diesel

U can.. done just that on 2 of mine. Stupid design, for us anyway, has batteries leak all over pcb!! Involving another 100 quid trip to dealer. Separate batt pack would avoid this issue so? Some have opened them and organized sepperate batt pack. Maplin days..

not just applicable to Merc .... Vauxhall's alarm siren did the same on my Omega, though they often had the added option of setting on fire!

Was it, the omega 8.1 yr old? Anyway anything that brings a Benz owner into parts dept or workshop will surely be copied by all other makers as soon as chance comes.. Or the other way around 2 option 1, learn to live with it, pay for it. 2,get out of dodge find a way to own, run something that does not have all this cxxp built into it
As I have put before, useful tech to me is tech, once bought works in such a way as I can forget about it. Any other is just a headache coming.

Hi, is this possible to be changed yourself once sourcing the part or does it have to go to Merc please? We have an E220 estate and the alarm woke our neighbours up at 1:30 this morning for no reason, it’s not the main battery so we are assuming it’s the alarm battery. Can the battery ne changed or does it need to be the whole siren? Also does this have to be done by Merc or can we DIY it please?
