- Mercedes E220d 2017
This afternoon I returned to me 2017 E220d and unlocked it remotely, and the alarm triggered. I pressed the fob again to cancel it, but on trying to start the car it gave a restraint system warning on the middle dash area (in yellow), followed by a red parking brake message (see owners manual) message which replaced it. It refused to start.
After half an hour of trying to restart, cancelling the warning messages, manually releasing and applying the handbrake lever, it eventually started, showing that there was one message still in the message log. I got it home, and I have since tried starting it again, no problems, and the message log is clear. Any ideas what the cause of this could be? I'm in a one car family and have some important things I need to get to over the next few weeks, and it makes me wonder whether I can rely on the car now.
