Alarming alarm

Hi. the battery in my key died on me so i replaced it.trouble is it dosnt operate remote locking or disable the alarm.i have disconnected the main battery for well over 15 minutes but the alarm stays on. it is an aftermarket alarm on a 94 estate.
i have taken the fuse out so i can get in by manual use of key and the car starts ok,but i would obviously prefer remote entry.
Is it possible to snip a wire on the siren so the remeote works or is it simply a sync problem with the key?
your help would be very appreciated.cheers colin.
ps...i have always had bl**dy problems with the alrm system.

Hi,further to the question....when i changed the battery in the remote fob it flashes....is it supposed to flash or stay constant?If you could give me any idea how to sync the fob with the alarm system i would be gratefull..(my grandson says he was playing with the pretty light on my keys..what can i say)

Many were Scorpion. Try:http://www.scorpionauto.com/keyfobs.htm to see if you can identify the fob. If so then take it from there.

this is the keyfob....the grey makes the alarm activate outside the car.the red mobilises and demob.... any help at syncing to the car please
