Hi All, so I am a first time Mercedes Benz owner and I have had my 2020 A180 for nearly two months now. To start with I absolutely love it. But after about two weeks for two days on the trot when I went to get in it first thing in the morning after opening the door the alarm went off and the key fob wouldn't turn it off, I had to get in and drive it away with the alarm sounding, and after about 30 seconds it stopped. Then a message on the MBUX said that a collision had been detected the night before and to check the area. Well it was parked on my drive at that time and it was impossible for a collision to be detected where it said. The day after the same thing happened. I called the deal and booked it in for a diagnostic, but they couldn't fit me in until the last week in July. The week before I cancelled the diagnostic as it didn't happen again and I didn't have the time to actually take it.
So this morning 10/07/23 I unlock the car open the door and the alarm goes off and the message appears on the MBUX saying collision detected at 15:19 on the 09/07/23. Then it dawned on me that the coincidence with each of these was each of the days and time we had thunder and lightning. So to me it sounds like the collision detection on my car is very sensitive. Has anyone else had this problem and did they need to do anything to stop it happening?
