Got my new ML 430 on Friday - great day to pick it up.
Have had a loveley weekend burning up gallons and gallons of fuel but I do have a problem it seems.
When I test drove the car, I booted her on an open stretch at around 40mph and she jumped down a gear or two, and lost all power. Couldn't get her going again properly and at idle she felt rough.
Told the salesman when I got back from test drive, who jumped into her, started her up and took off down the road with no trouble.
So as part of the deal I insisted that she went to MB or a specialist to be serviced/checked over etc.
Said specialist insisted on a variety of things being done, such as new discs/pads, tyre etc and sorted out a new mirror switch, an a service and most importantly fitted some sensors which were the cause of the loss of power. Cost the salesman 750 quid and I'm a happy bunny.
Only it appears the sensors weren't the problem. Once during the weekend (only once mind you) when I tramped the accelerator at about 45 to get out a lane and up a hill in wales the same loss of power occured
No worries though - pulled over, she was idling rough, turned her off, turned her on and presto all was well
I had pressed hard enough to hit the kickdown button under the accelerator so I don't know if that was the problem?? (Did it before the event and she was fine from a standing start - hyperspeed achieved no problem)
Any ideas anyone?
Oh and one other thing - where can I get another remote type key? Only got one
