MERCEDES-BENZ E CLASS DIESEL SALOON 220 D AMG LINE PREMIUM PLUS 4DR 9G-TRONIC
Hey guys, want some advice regarding alloy change. Having repeated mini cracks due to bad road conditions in countryside UK. The rims need changing and too many run flat tyres changed due to bubbling.

I have MERCEDES-BENZ E CLASS DIESEL SALOON 220 D
AMG LINE PREMIUM PLUS 4DR 9G-TRONIC- 75k- late 16 plate but Jan 17 Reg.

When I bought it used approved, I think the MB dealer changed the 19 inch 5 spoke alloys (as per the initial advert) to 20inch multi spoke,
My current tyre size is:
• Front tires: 225/35R20
• Rear tires: 275/30R20

Advice please:
- Should I change the alloys to 19inch options so the profile helps with cushioning or should I change to similar 20inch and new ones should withstand the pressure.
- Also would you suggest buying used alloys in good condition and planing to change the car soon and upgrade.
- What model number of alloys should I look for the rear and the front separately? The rear from my understanding will be W213? And front? Pics attached for your review.

Many thanks

Go for the genuine 19in wheels (plenty of good S/H sets on eBay) all the 20in genuine turbine wheels are the same they suffer cracks. Too early to say how my 20in E53 wheels will fare but I’ll ditch the runflats as soon as economical to do so which helps

If you are going to change the car then get yours re-furbed properly, put a decent set of tyres (non-runflat) on it and change it.

The cracks are caused by the stiffness in the runflat walls and speed bumps (Pillows)

Or trade it in as is.
You could / should get any crack in the alloys welded first, but most dealers will factor in a wheel refurb on their to do list.
