Hi

I bought my friends 2001 C200k Avantgarde. He looked after it beautifully. The only thing showing the cars age was the corrosion to the alloy wheels. Mine are called Diamond cut, because the bare metal is cut and then lacquered, rather than just painted. I called various places and got different quotes. Some garages wanted my car for 5 days whilst they did the job. I have a friend in the trade and he told me the best place was called 'Spit and Polish' in east London. The problem is they only deal with the trade and will only pick up wheels. They will not remove your tyres etc! I have set of tyre leavers for my bike but not a trye removela kit, also I need my car every day.

I had a browse on the net and have a flick through the Yellow pages and rang a Garage in Ilford. For £50 per wheel, you take your car there and they remove your wheels, give you a set of loan wheels so you still have your car, and in 5 days they come back from Spit and Polish looking Pristine. They even fit sticky weights into the inside of the rim, so as not to damage the edge. They are a real back street garage, but would reccomend them for the refurb!
If anyone is interested the number is = 0208 514 0600 Think it is called K1 tyres.

Don't forget to wax them and never use wheel cleaner, next time you change your brake pads, try EBC ceramic RED, the dirt just falls off.

No sorry, when you change the brake pads, use EBC red brake pads, they dont make the wheels so dirty.
