Hi there,

I'd like to take a minute and say thanks for the accept to the forum. I recently bought a 2019 C63 AMG premium plus model. I love it, the sound of that V8 is something else. I'm not a fan of the alloys though, if I can post a pic I will.

At the moment: Front 235/40 18s
Rear 265/40 18s

Was looking to change with: Front 235/35 19s
Rear 265/35 19s

Or: Front 235/40 18s
Rear 265/35 19s

Just had the thought of the last combo with the different wheel sizes. I've heard a lot of manufacturers do it but it's been designed like that. Anyway just thought I'd ask the community. Thanks.

I'd stick to sizes and combinations approved by MB, less chance of your insurance company complaining if you're unfortunate enough to have a claim put before an assessor.
So 19s or 18s all round.
Remember to check the offset of any wheels that you buy to avoid clearance issues with suspension, brakes and bodywork.

Hi there,

That's great, thanks for all the great information, good shout on the insurance company and to check the offsets.

Think I'll definitely go for a set of 19s, will make sure I pick up the correct dimensions.

Cheers

Are you sure about those sizes J?

Assuming the OP has a W205 C63 AMG Saloon, AWD give these dimensions for a 19" AMG wheel set up. The tyre sizes are different too, as shown in the link below.

If the OP has a Coupe, sizes again are different.

Apologies if I got it wrong, but 225's on the front of a C63 doesn't sound right, whether 18's or 19's.

Hi there,

I just went out and checked the dimensions.
Front is 245/40 18s
Rear is 265/40 18s

Was looking to change these to 19s, same width of tyres just that I'll be changing the 40 profile to 35.

Agreed 225 are on my 17" SLC250d, fronts are 245 18" on my 212 E350CDI.

This doesn’t look right. 40 is a % of the width so not an actual size. So this means the rear tyres have a bigger rolling diameter than the front which will tend to mess up all sorts of safety systems like ABS and traction control.

Hey, I totally agree with them being the wrong diameter as it's due to the ratio of the width of the tyre where you get the profile number. That's one of the reasons why I can't understand they've been set up like that. Had the manual out this morning but nothing to do with the tyre sizes.

I'm thinking about going for front 235/40 19s and rear 265/35 19s. That way they should be around the same diameter overall. What do you think?

what's on the back of the fuel filler cap? There's usually a choice of tyre sizes & the respective pressures

It's dark outside just now but this is the best photo I could get. Not sure it's what I'm looking for exactly though. I'll post the picture.

Alright,

Sorry I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to Mercedes, first one I've ever bought. It's a 4 door C63 AMG, not the S. I'll post a picture of the car, I must have one or I'll take one when it's light tomorrow. Front wheels definitely has 245/40 18
and rear has 265/40 18.

I know it doesn't sound right but that's how I bought it, don't like the alloys anyway so I want to change them but there's loads of tread on these pilot sport 5s, I'm not changing until I need to as I'll be moving from 18 to 19 inch.

The only way I could find my tyre sizes was by looking in the digital manual. As above, 40 profile front and rear on different widths does not sound correct.

These are the correct sizes for the C63 as quoted by @AMGeed for a Saloon

Ah, nice one mate, thanks for checking that out for me. Think I'll still change them at some point down the road. Like I said, these tyres have so much thread on them I'll keep them just now.

Cheers
