Yes they are interchangable, as the ET is the same.

The ET might be the same but the 210 wheel bolt is of a smaller diameter than the 211, also the 211 I belive has a shorter shank, so I would double check with MB parts dept first before buying any.

Sorry Malc, don't what to tread on anyone toes!!

Dont be sorry, good point. We had this with the 129's early wheels are 12mm and the newer ones 14mm.

Special bolts can be obtained from that wheel place in Sailsbury,Used to be Murray Systems, they are a12mm bolt with a 14mm radius.

Thank you Type 49 for pointing this out, i should know better.Malcolm

I am running W211 wheels on my W124. W211's have 14mm bolts, W124 12mm. As long as the cups on the bolts seat into the holes there is no issue running 12mm bolts in them. A Merc dealership will frown at such a "fix". However as long as the seating is good there is no issue and is as safe as.

The ET is always the big issue!!!

Be careful here, the radius on the 14mm bolt is not the same as the 12mm.

If you put some engineers blue onto the 12mm bolt and screw it in,you will see that the contact in only made very close to the thin part of the taper on the wheel. Special bolts are sold or have the radius of the 12mm taper changed on a lathe to that of the 14mm.

Good point!!! I have "special" bolts. I believe that they were made for a Ford Escort (don't quote me!), but have REALLY big cupped heads. Sorted!

Another way of checking is to take out one of the bolts and there should be a bright ring around the taper where contact is being made, the same on the wheel.
