I'm looking for a set of AMG monoblock type - retro alloys to fit to my W208 CLK cab.

I've only seen a couple of tatty 17" sets, and none that are staggered.

    I've also found these replicas:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400347398725?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

The problem is, I think that non-staggered 18's might look a little odd as they will be too far in from the arch on the rear.

Will 20mm spacers solve that issue, or will it look silly?

    Thanks,

    Steve

They should fill the arches nicely, they are 8.5" wide, you can also fit 225/40 front and 255/35 rear tyres to them.

I would put them on then see if they need spacers

    Thanks for the reply

I'd love some genuine ones, but they all seem to be 17's, really damaged or the wrong offset from what I have found.

My '16" Mirzam's' suit the car, but they look tiny for such a large bodied car.

I noticed as you said on looking again that they can come fitted with 225 or 245's, I guess I could always have 225 on the front and 245 on the rear or even ask for 255's if you think they will fit ok, the offset seems right at 35, but not sure how they will sit (hate gambling with wheels).

As you said though, if they sat a bit strange I could always then get some spacers just to push them out a little.

Time to have a serious think about ordering them :)

    Cheers

I had staggered and currently on non staggered, mine are on 18s though. have a look at the most recent pic on the Xmas GTG thread to see how they fill the arch.

I have 225 on the front, and 255 on the rear

They would look lovely on my 202. Shame Christmas is so close.

Indeed it is, already got way too much to spend out on this month.

Thanks Miffy, I had a look and they seem to sit under the arches well - not too far in and not too far out.

Are your ET35? And did you put any spacers on the rear?

    Thanks,

ET is stock, would be the same as yours, but personally I have no idea :) No spacers or anything used. All I had to have was shorter bolts which came with my wheels.

    Good stuff :)

Called the chap and they can do 255 on the rear and 225 on the front :D

Just going to fit some new tweeters I've ordered (one isn't working) and then put the new pedal value sensor in and I will order some up! :D

    Cheers

Oh, just one last quickie, does anyone know the correct profile for 225's on the front and for the 255's on the rear?

    Cheers :)

    Thanks for the info.

Have been looking on the net all night at wheels to be sure I get ones I like.

Struggling to see many CLK's with standard ride height fitted with various alloys (seems most on google and other clubs have been lowered, which I do not want to do).

    Cheers

Make my mind up time then!

I think I have narrowed it down to two sets attached are a couple of dodgy photoshops I quickly did.

Opinions on which would look best? I'm not planning on lowering the car or fitting any kits or anything like that, other than the wheels it will be totally standard.

    Thanks,

personally I prefer the brabus style rims. many will say the AMG style as they will keep the look as intended.

I think the dark colour of the Brabus look good on the CLK.

Don't Brabus wheels need special bolts and adapters?
