Does anyone know of a good product for alloy wheels?
I had a lot of problems with Laquer peeling and the good old 'white-worm' on my previous E400
Just like to know what people are using?

I recommend and use the Autoglym range of wheel cleaners

One of the worst things you can do is use an old petrol filling station hand car wash, they regularly use high strength Hypochlorite which "knackers the lacquer"

My SLC suffered exactly the same, yet my C Class does not.
Both cars have the same wheel type, both same age and looked after identically from new.
I'm guessing the finishing standard or inconsistancy of the laquer application is the only variable.

I wouldn't , my brother fitted some rear discs and decided to clean up the wheels , sprayed on Auto Glym and the discs new paint bubbled !

Having spent a great deal of time and money with Autoglym on wheel and car cleaning products I can attest to their suitability.

(I'm fairly confident I've been responsible for washing more car wheels than anyone else on the forum (or even all of the forum combined...) )

If u get them ceramic coated, then just normal car wash shampoo would be adequate. When I had my alloys refurbed, lepson advised to just use car wash shampoo, and nothing else.

Ditto but a lot cheaper. I think I paid 260 including repair of a small crack and disposal of 2 tyres. Mine were corroding outward from the hubs.

I only use Koch Kemi Reactive wheel cleaner on my winters and summers and never had an issue in 7 years.

Koch Kemi > Jet Wash > Shampoo > Jet Wash > Dry > Polish Angel Supersport PTFE.

Nothing will stop the Lacquer lifting unless you garage the car and never use it.

I just use the car shampoo on the wheels (guires gold class).
They come up brilliant.

Again it's quality control and cost cutting my w208 wheels were near immaculate at 20 Yr old. My w166 ml250 has white spiders on all wheels same story on wheel bolts. Even new ones I bought 5 Yr ago for ml have rust on!
