Hi Guys,
Just thought I'd post this for future reference. I didn't know, this but after much messing around, I've discovered that there are actually two versions of Almandine Red metallic, they are:
521 Almandine Red
521R Almandine Red (Red)
My car is a 1994 E220 W124 Coupe. I went to my local Motor Factors and had them mix some 521 Almandine red, which on using I found to be "too purple" and a total miss-match to the the car's existing paintwork.
On returning to the Motor Factor's the next day armed with the car's fuel filler cover (as a paint match) the "main" paint guy said they had two versions of Almandine red on their data base and had given me the wrong shade. So all you members out there with Almandine red cars, beware when you order paint for your car - check the version first!
Hope this helps someone in the future,
Mark.
